As I explained in an earlier reply, there have been several comments over instability experience by some people, but seriously they are less prevalent than you imagine and are often 'local' - and by that I mean, circumstances that are specific to their set up.
Fair enough but when both Win users and Mac users start to moan... (?)
Two items seemed to contribute here. 1. Memory Usage settings 2. File Browser running in background. Closing helps.
Possibly. But since incorrect permissions can contribute to either the System or the Application, I cannot be more specific.
I mentioned the permissions issues. I am not exonerating Apple from the responsibility, but as I explained I noted the suggestion that these permissions needed to be correct at installation of either System or Application Software, and immediately after such an operation for some problems to not occur.
Do you think a re-install of PSCS would be advisable then? With permissions fixed before and after?
My comments overall were still general. Each person's system (either platform) is different, and so the comments I make on List have to be non-specific. This is therefore quite a challenge when I pay a studio a visit and see how they have set things up.
Are you sure that the cause lies with the application, and not that you are viewing the result, that is the consequence? Do you get my point?
Those who have adopted this 'belt and braces' procedure have, like me experience fewer of these hiccoughs and praise Apple for the stability of Panther, and Adobe for Photoshop CS
I certainly don't have any issues *other* than with PSCS...
No, for yourself! Naturally, I am happy if you succeed in sorting the problem, but you are missing out if you give up on Photoshop CS, it does have a lot going for it for photographers, especially those shooting digitally.
People who have taken note of some of the suggestions I have made, have had stability and speed, seriously...
I might have to give it another go... just for you. ;-)
Now, where was I? Ah! Finding where the next retouch or student is lurking...
