I don't know how things work in the UK but in the US many if not most of
the independent ISPs have multiple phone numbers covering many areas
(some nationwide) so you can contact your ISP from virtually anywhere.
Of course you can always your main number and pay toll charges if you're
out of the local calling area. I have Hawk (www.aaahawk.com) but many
others have the same feature. I don't think it matters if you are
calling from a landline or mobile but I'm not sure never having done
that.

Hope this answers your question...

Hi List

Does anyone have any experience of this? - hopefully its not too o/t

My internet account is currently with Globalnet on the 'pay as you go'
basis ie its the cost of a local rate phone call plus £30 per quarter.

The reason I went down this road was that it allows me to dial in from
any phone which is useful if I have to wire in from the site of the job.
However my bisuiness has changed slightly, I am now spending more time
on the net and want to move to an 'anytime' monthly contract.

The Globalnet anytime system dictates you must specify a phone number
so if I go down this route I wont be able to email on the move - unless
I run two accounts and incur two charges.....

So my question is - is there an ISP that will allow me anytime access
but still let me use the internet via my mobile?

Thanks in advance

Simon Barber
