Hi Simon

If you're working from a fixed point most of the time then obviously some
form of broadband is the way to go. I also occasionally need to dial in to
the web remotely, and set up an account with uk2.net, which is a pay as you
go thing, so you just dial in and pay an (I think) 0845 charge on the call
for its duration. For the amount I use it, its ideal, tho' if you're doing
more something more robust with monthly charges might be better. Works for
me tho'. Also, I think it'd be easy to use with a pda if you were into that
sort of thing...

Hope that helps.

Subject: [PRODIG] Internet on the move.....

Hi List

Does anyone have any experience of this? - hopefully its not too o/t

My internet account is currently with Globalnet on the 'pay as you go' basis
ie its the cost of a local rate phone call plus 30 per quarter.

The reason I went down this road was that it allows me to dial in from any
phone which is useful if I have to wire in from the site of the job.
However my bisuiness has changed slightly, I am now spending more time on
the net and want to move to an 'anytime' monthly contract.

The Globalnet anytime system dictates you must specify a phone number so if
I go down this route I wont be able to email on the move - unless I run two
accounts and incur two charges.....

So my question is - is there an ISP that will allow me anytime access but
still let me use the internet via my mobile?

Thanks in advance
