Speaking for myself and having read as much, I believe the practice utilizing a standard working color space is for confidence in what is 'tried & true'. For example, Bruce Fraser would describe the standard color spaces (e.g., Adobe RGB, Pro Photo, ...) as neutral balanced with respect to R=G=B, such that a severe tonal adjustment will not yield anything other than predictable color (i.e., with confidence). I don't know that you can say the same thing about your device or monitor space, and maybe someone else can come up with a "by-the-numbers" test. However, most of those who practice in standard color space, including Bruce Fraser, are hardly evangelical about it. You should stick with what works for you ... but it should neither be described as "someone's fantasy". my CA$0.02 & cheerios ... shAf :o) Avalon Peninsula, Newfoundland www.micro-investigations.com =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
