[PRODIG] Lyson cartridges

Quick question: I'm about to put some Lyson cartridges in my 1160 
(don't ask; will explain sometime:-)

As well as a tape on the top which must be pulled off, they have gold 
foil covers over the ink outlets on the bottom. Do I pull these off 
or are they pierced by the printer on insertion?
