This could give me an answer to another problem I have had. Yes, I did an install over OS9, and then did a clearout of lots of odds and ends. Possibly all the Nikon bits from OS9. I also had downloaded a trial version of Iview some time before I installed OSX, not sure when but I would say 18months? After I did my clearout I found I had 'Nikon view monitor carbon' stuck in the trash. Nothing would let me remove it. I just got an error message say "Program in use' when I tried to empty the trash. I also found that 'Nikon view monitor carbon' is listed as inuse under Applications>Utilities>Process listing I would guess that this is possibly the program in use by Iview as the reader for nef's, and explain why it was impossible to remove.
