I saw no mention of the RAW file specifically being the point in question, I will concede this is exclusively embedded within a sidecar file. Except in forensic circumstances when would a photographer submit a RAW file to a client? And therefore be worried over copyright. By embedding a copyright notice within a TIFF file and possessing the RAW file without any added info this shows you are the owner - a cheat is hardly able to recreate a RAW file without any sign of copyright from a copied TIFF!
One of the main features of a RAW file is that it is virgin and is generally accepted in courts as being uncorrupt and tamperproof.
