Ahh... Matt ,that is why I was emphasising the need for a true PRO digi cam designed for a raw workflow. The Kodak for instance, has a 19 frame burst, accurate flash esposure with an appropriate Speedlight, and costs justs �2995 including all the software! The D100 is not a true pro camera and its functionality reflects this. ( However that is not to say it is not capable of good results. ) Results can be achioeved with such cameas but at the expense of time and the pitfalls described in your first post.
