> Since RIP software is so expensive I wish to make an optimum decision.

Optimum is a tricky sort of word ... Means so many different things to
different people :-)

I use the ImagePrint RIP on a 9600. It is vastly better than anything I got
with the Epson profiles, and the black and white performance is -much-
better (which is one of the reasons I got it). In particular, it gives B/W
prints which do not have the purple/green tinge when viewed under tungsten
lighting - they even look good under fluorescent. They have a demo
available <http://www.colorbytesoftware.com/>

If however your definition of optimum warrants it, you can go to much
greater expense for the software and get people to come and spend days
tweaking it for you. :-)

bye for now
