Dear Darren, Are you using pc of mac if you are using pc then you can separate and extract the data using this software
http://www.r-studio.com/ Alternatively if you can identify the faulty drive then just replace it and the data should be mirrored automatically. You could of course also gte a large external drive of the same size and copy all the data off then reformat both internal drives as individuals and then run some tests on them. It could be just that the raid config is corrupt. In which case you could delete the raid config and rebuild the mirrored drive. I don't know it this works on mac but on my pc bios is has no effect on the data as one drive is always redundant and is backed up to, this sometimes happens on a bad shutdown.
