David,
I regularily use frontier equipped labs and had the same problem as you
initially. For whatever reason the frontiers ignore all profiles. I am not
sure if that behaviour can be changed, but its how every frontier lab I have
tried is setup. As long as I convert my files to Srgb they work fine. It's
actually a joy to be able to send/download a file to them and know that they
won't be tampered with or "improved". As long as you supply the files
sharpened and in the Srgb space they are very consistent and accurate -as
well as cheap and quick! Some of the labs also have profiles available so
you can preview on your screen. Unlike most minilabs I have tested, most of
the Fuji-Frontier labs have reasonably knowledgable operators who are more
than just button pushers. Every one I have tried also has at least one
workstation running photoshop. I have had occaision where a rush job is
needed and I have been allowed to use the station to tweak files before
printing. A good relationship with the operators helps!

Frank Styevko from OZ[
