Karena,

I doubt if carrying a hard drive to the U.S. will present problems, but wait
until you have heard from someone who has done this.. Transparencies should
not present a problem, either, but do keep them close to you and don't pack
them with camera's or any other thievable items. Travelling to the U.S. from
the U.K. many years ago , I carried the selected results from 6 months
photography in Africa in a camera case. I thought this would be the safest
place since I never let my camera's out of my site. Wrong. I got into an
elevator with two Rox camera cases. Left it for ten seconds to let someone
into the building. Elevator went up and came down empty. This was on a Sunday
in a locked apartment building.

Camera's were replaced but not the images...

I recommend you find the time to scan key images before you go to New York.

Is it "allowed" to carry a Hard Drive of images into the US given
security situation?

(I also need to send a LOT of trannies to NYC - I cannot Fed Ex or
similar, so was thinking of taking personally as carry on.
Has anyone experienced any probs with this with the airlines/Customs???
