This is true on Mac, not Windows.

Following text is taken from the release notes of the Mac version:
"Tethered operation for Canon EOS 1D/1Ds is not enabled by default due to the lack of
quality of the underlying components and potential high risk of destroying valuable
data. "

Both Windows and Mac version rely on Canon's underlying components for connectivity,
where by we can not guarantee the same stability connectivity wise as we can for a
Phase One camera back where we are in full control over software and hardware.

My experience during the almost two year we have made our RAW conversion software
available for DSLR cameras is that you have the same stability in our software as you
do in the Canon software, you will also have the same problems as you do with Canons
software when fundamentally a 1D/1Ds or any Canon camera are developed for being
untethered solution, where most medium format camera back is not.
