Hi Shangara For my tuppence worth could the "thick barcode" be over inking pushing through the system. I read somewhere - sorry cannot remember where, but it was possibly the Marrut site - that the relative vertical position of printer/CIS can have an impact on inking ... to do with gravity feed if I remember rightly. I think it also appears in the installation instructions.
Always one for "overdoing it" our 1290 rests on the 45mm high polystyrene packing that was used to protect out CIS during shipping. Added benefit comes in apparent reduction in carriage head noise/vibration from the little beast. Hope that helps.
