Richard

Raising the printer seems to have cleared the splodging problem.

I looked at the pin stripes closely and decided one of the magenta inks
wasn't being laid properly; it was more apparent on prints that were overly
magenta. So, I ran the mWords purge print with the magenta stripes only and
noticed the pin striping in the light magenta. I then did another purge
print and it has all but gone. There is slight pin striping in the light
cyan but another purge print may cure it - J'espre!

I just printed the Pixl test print again and it is much, much improved. The
"petrol on water" look that I saw in the shadows in the earlier prints when
I angled the print away from me has all but disappeared.

Phew!...

So, the moral of the story is:

--Raise the printer or lower the ink bottle tray.

--Make sure the head is aligned by doing some tests in the printer utility.

--Run some purge prints.

--Earn some decent money and buy a 7600 and a RIP.
