I need to upgrade my laptop.

It's going to be a windows one, as all the programs on the old Dell are getting
transferred, so other OS's aren't an option.

Based on specs I've narrowed it down to a couple of the IBM Thinkpads (probably
R series as it's got the larger screen), and a few of the Dell Latitudes with
the larger 15 inch XGA screens.

Trouble is, that while I can see a few of the Latitudes at a nearby store,
nobody carries the IBM line around here so I have no idea what the screens look
like in comparison to the Dells.

Anyone had a chance to compare side by side or within a short period of time and
have an opinion on which is best?

The IBM thinkpads have a few additional features that make them attractive, but
if the screen is lacking I'm not sure I'll go with it.

TIA,

David
