> So, with the imminent arrival of a 16mp+ SLR, where now for medium format?

I was looking at the more detailed specs* of the 1Ds MkII and noticed that
although there is mention of increased max iso (to 3200), less noise and more
MP, there is no trumpeting of more dynamic range(it's not mentioned, so I
presume it's still the same)

I've seen discussions about whether this was a limit of Canon's CMOS sensor
process or a limitation of the processing capability of the DIGIC II
processor. CCD MF backs do manage better at the moment, but I suspect that
before long we will see 14-15 bit per channel rather than the current ~12 from
a DSLR.

The benefits of the new 1Ds could be significant to some, but at the moment
not enough for me to make a sound business case (excuse) to get one ;-)
