The news is yes free to win 8 users. But pro is 199$ otherwise. And it seems M$ are not going to do upgrades. 199$ is it. New or XP. Now I feel right when I took advantage of the cheap upgrade when it came out. I got a whole heap of PC's here updated then. And the other news is its due in October, the 8.1 that is. You don't really need touch for win 8. In fact once you get used to it, it's neat. Like from the start screen, just type what you want. But I hope 8.1 puts the start menu back in as a choice. The other thing I miss is the desktop widgets. You can get both start menu and widgets but not from Microsoft and they do not have the finesse of win 7 versions. In fact widgets are awful as they come overtop the apps. Al
