Ted - your response is Hysterical. I love it! But - alas, this might be something my buddy's Son might pull. However, his daughter is really the only smart cookie in the family.
Also - his PC is old - and they all use it - her for homework - him & his wife for business. So, the old PC may actually have somehow corrupted the file. Oh well - at least I took a shot at trying to help out. Life goes on... -K- -----Original Message----- From: ProfoxTech [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ted Roche Sent: Thursday, July 23, 2015 12:47 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [NF] Help w/a Corrupted Word File I think you might suspect this is the 21st century equivalent of "the dog ate my homework" -- pick a random file off the hard disk, copy it and rename it "My Very Very Very Important Homework Assignment I Worked On All Night Rather Than Hanging Out on Snapchat.docx" and Voila! Instant excuse! On a Linux box, executing "file yourfile.docx" will attempt to discover what the file is likely made of. I don't know of a Windows equivalent.
