Yep, currently under the Patriot Act the president claims he has the 
power to force ISP to maintain archives of data.  He also claims he has 
the power to force entities like ISP and Google  to turn over data to 
Uncle Sam for NSA analysis, and who know what else.  To top it off, if 
an ISP or Google is asked to turn over data, they are placed under a gag 
order, and can't tell anyone else about it, so there is no way to know 
what is going on and to what extent.

I'm a little uncomfortable having too much private information out there 
on the Internet on servers I have absolutely no control over, and will 
never physically see.  Hopefully, at some time in the future a Supreme 
Court ruling will come down clarifying the constitutionality of the 
current assertion being made, which I feel is overreaching by the 
government.
