I was watching the video on CNN this morning. The Santa Ana winds are the problem more than anything else, except for arsonists that start the wild fires.
There was a clip that talked about fire retardant foam that would protect your home for about 15 minutes. What was more interesting was a fire retardant gel that would protect your home for 3-4 hours. Cost was about $300 for the typical home. The manufacturer was not named or maybe I missed it.
