Been there, done that, got the t-shirt and started my own company. I also have 
learned from this
environment and made a commitment to not have robots working for me when the 
time comes for me to
hire employees.

I also know that open communication is the root of all success and back up what 
I pledge. I like how
Matt has this with his employer. I communicate the complete package, not simple 
salary, which is
typically only 60-70% of the complete package. If I have bonus plan and stick 
to it people will
trust me. I plan to offer a bonus structure people also have some control over. 
The first thing I
hate is when a bonus plan is made that I personally have no control over. In 
this case I have
learned that something I have no control over typically does not benefit me.
