Still thinking about this. Here's another thought ...

The list is named ProFox, with Pro being an abbreviation for
"Professional", right?

To contrast, a fine example from your alma mater
http://llk.media.mit.edu/

Each has a place in this world, but don't they properly belong in
separate spaces?

Granted, distinguishing "professional" from "kindergarten" in the
computer world is a subjective assessment, and a person could be working
as a day laborer and writing a program home at night, and I'm sure we'd
all welcome that person, but we know that's not what I'm talking about.

To be sure, what I am talking about is a warmongering propagandist who
makes sure that every neocon argument is broadcast repeatedly to this
community, another who can't put two thoughts together, and a
JVC-wannabe .NET evangelist. Do these people properly belong being
high-volume poster in a Professional-FoxPro forum where people are
trying to create products, solve problems using VFP, and who share
relatively-educated thoughts on the important issues of our time?

Don't we have a saying in the computer world that goes: "garbage in,
garbage out?". Don't we routinely solve problems like these by going to
source of the garbage to stop it from getting into the system? Most of
us filter spam, but wouldn't a better solution be to stop the
high-volume spammers at the source? It's not the trickle here or there
stuff that bothers people, it's the high volume "messages pounded into
the brain" stuff that is the most damaging (and effective, as Madison
Ave is so well aware).
