Actually, the world did as a collective nexus between the events of WW I
and WW II.  WW I was rumored to have ended all this war business but
that didn't happen.

And, I think the all of the politicos (both parties) tend to agree with
you, in that, if other nations would just leave the U.S. alone things
would be a lot smoother - don't you think?

        Orthogonal to the discussion. Doing good deeds does not justify
bad  
ones. Growing up in NJ, I knew a lot of communities in which the Mafia  
provided extensive social services, and in return the community  
tolerated and even welcomed them.
