I judged wood aged ales last night and then sampled Old English and Barleywine leftovers. What great entries we had for our fair this year. The winner in our flight was a Standard Bitter. It was the closest to style and then the wood conditioned flavors were a benefit to it. Next was a cask conditioned Barleywine that the wood didn't overcome the complexity of the malts. You could barely smell any type of wood aroma nor taste it. but to style it was right on the money. they scored a 42 and a 40 out of 50 points total. -- Stephen Russell Sr. Production Systems Programmer Mimeo.com Memphis TN 901.246-0159 _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
