Actually, the danger has increased, not decreased, now that he will be forced to deal with Republicans. The RINOs are incredibly easy to bribe -- I daresay only someone as ideologically blinded and full of himself could turn off the likes of Snowe, Collins, Grahamnesty, et al. But now that they'll actually have some leverage, you might as well count them as Democrats. So ironically, Obama may actually have a bigger majority now that the fig leaf of super minority powerlessness has been removed, and they'll be freer, not to mention encouraged, to give into their screw-the-republic-let's-make-a-deal instincts. I hope I'm wrong but they have a way of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, every time. - Publius -- "It ought never to be forgotten, that a firm union of this country, under an efficient government, will probably be an increasing object of jealousy to more than one nation of Europe; and that enterprises to subvert it will sometimes originate in the intrigues of foreign powers, and will seldom fail to be patronized and abetted by some of them. Its preservation, therefore ought in no case that can be avoided, to be committed to the guardianship of any but those whose situation will uniformly beget an immediate interest in the faithful and vigilant performance of the trust."
