The problem is that there might be many names, only some of which you
want detail on. I guess I need to handle f. anyway, and I could expand
a tacit name if the object of f. .
There is surely SOME difference between explicits and tacits. For
example, I couldn't have written ds as an explicit verb, since it needs
access to local names.

As for expansion of names, I'd be tempted to have that be another
entry point (dsn?) or perhaps a left argument for ds. I would be
uncomfortable with explaining to someone "this code does not actually
work and it represents this other code".
