Does having a large paging (swap file, I'm assuming these are the same) file
really make a difference in system performance?

I increased from 256MB to 384MB; plus a second 28G hard drive partitioned
10, 10 & 8 with the 8G being dedicated to a swap file. Making that large of
a swap file alone made my system faster. All this on WIN98 SE!
