This command has no effect on your existing routing, except when you
manually add a track that creates a loop. In that case it will rip up the
old path.

Not so sure this is 100% true I have had it take out extra power vias even
though they were not attached to the
traces I was interacting with, but of course they were same net. This is
true even with those vias locked, you also need to turn on protect locked
items, and that sometimes you may forget you turned it off. It is a handy
feature to save time, but be aware it can take out some
vias on you if not carefull in this situation from what I've seen.
