I never tried this but maybe it works:
In PCB
- "Edit-Export to Spread" to generate a spreadsheet containing
all components with associated layer
In SCH
- Via "update from database"-function and the created
spredsheet update the part field desired
I don't remember the exact procedure to update the part fields. I gave this up a
long time ago because it didn't work the way I hoped (I tried to get actual
information from our central parts database into part fields of the SCH in "real
time"). However, this could be a useful application for it.
If you try it I would be interested in the results.
