This didn't quite work. Protel simply would not select the components that were outside the box AND negative.

I'm on a computer which does not have the full record of this discussion, but one comment about the selection process:


"Select Outside" will not select an object which has any primitive within the chosen area. I think this may include having extents within the space (which may not involve having an actual primitive in the space). A primitive may *appear* to be outside the workspace but have something, say an invisible piece of comment text, inside the workspace.

It is better to "Select All" then Deselect Inside, i.e., deselect what you do not want to move.
