Dude, please calm down. You're very argumentative in your tone and it was you who said "Which version of Pro Tools included Shift-comma and Shift-period? All the way back to version 5, there was no such control. Before that, we're talking Pro Tools 4 which was around 1997. Were you using Pro Tools before version 5?" I explained in a very humble and nice way that you're completely wrong about that and you flipped out and said
"I don't need to try it. I know how it works"
Excuse me but if you knew how it worked you'd obviously know it existed which you did not. You might say you understand the theory of how it would work but how could you know if you said
"All the way back to version 5, there was no such control"
This list is for helping out and learning and I very rarely chime in to contribute because I assume others will take up the task like yourself. I enjoy your contributions but don't need to be patronized with you saying things like "Next thing, you're going to tell me that I can change whether the fast forward/rewind buttons are
momentary or latching."
Why not just take a post for what it's worth and admit you obviously didn't know about this feature. Trust me, there may even be another feature you're not familiar with so relax a bit and have an enlightening learning experience whenever you can. My editing technique is very different from yours but I wouldn't come on here and say you're doing it wrong. There are various ways to achieve the same results in the same time frame or quicker for some so what works for you may not work the same for another. I would never make such a claim that I know everything and I'm not saying you are either but we're all on this list and you are one of the proverbial we on this forum.
