Wow, really? OK, see the comments below.

I'm completely calm. I don't know where this is coming from.

5?"

  Slau writes:
Having had transcribed the pdf keyboard shortcuts from back in the day when
PDFs were still inaccessible, I never saw a shortcut like this. I subsequently
checked and, indeed, the command does work in version 5 but appears to be
undocumented, at least in the Keyboard Shortcuts Mac version pdf. I was curious
if that command went back to version 4, which I used in school. BTW, you never
did answer my question.

I wouldn't have characterized your comment as particularly nice or humble. I
took it merely as a statement. That's all. Further, If you think "I don't need
to try it. I know how it works," is flipping out, that says more about how
you're understanding or misunderstanding my comment. I was referring to knowing
how fast forward and rewind works in the current versions of Pro Tools.

which you did not. You might say you understand the theory of how it would work
but how could you know if you said

  Slau writes:
Again, I was referring to knowing how rewind and fast forward work not
whether there was a keyboard shortcut of which I was unaware. My awareness or
non-awareness of a keyboard shortcut has no bearing on a function.
Incidentally, Shift-comma and shift-period work exactly like 1 and 2 on the num
pad as well as the dedicated rewind and fast forward buttons on a control
surface so I'm not exactly sure what you were driving at.

  Slau writes:
By all means, chime in. Don't assume. Do you think I wouldn't love it if more
users contributed? Please.

The three letters immediately preceding my sentence were LOL. It was a joke
and you didn't take it as intended. Was LOL unclear?

know about this feature. Trust me, there may even be another feature you're not
familiar with so relax a bit and have an enlightening learning experience
whenever you can. My editing technique is very different from yours but I
wouldn't come on here and say you're doing it wrong.

  Slau writes:
Where did I ever suggest you're doing something wrong? I never implied
anything of the sort in any of my replies.

would never make such a claim that I know everything and I'm not saying you are
either but we're all on this list and you are one of the proverbial we on this
forum.

  Slau writes:
Indeed, I don't know everything. This was never a discussion about technique.
You went out of your way to point out that I didn't mention a shortcut of which
I was unaware, never saw mention of and personally never needed to use. In the
context of my recent audio demonstration I simply pointed out that I was using
Shuttle mode and that it suited me. I chose not to use Fast Forward and didn't
mention any shortcut and somehow that surprised you. Then, you proceeded to
coach me on making sure that I have "audio during fast forward and rewind"
checked in my preferences. Surely, you know that I'm not a spring chicken in
the Pro Tools world and, with that in mind, don't you see how I could find that
comical? Hence, my LOL and the attempt at a little humor.

Dude, believe me, I'm nothing if not calm.
