I agree with Rocco, the fact it isn't letting you hear when plugged in via USB is odd.
Can you hear the amp in general when you plug it in via USB if you don't even open up Pro Tools? If so, then we can narrow down it's something in P T. But my guess is, if this is happening in P T, with the way you're describing things, I'll almost guarantee you're not gonna hear it even if Pro Tools isn't running/launched. At which case, this isn't a PT issue at all. It's an issue with configuration of the amp, which it sounds like Rocco is saying as well as myself. I've never seen an amp that just outright by default quit audibly working through its internal speaker just because you plugged it in via USB. I'm not saying there aren't maybe settings to make it do as you describe, but they wouldn't be generally speaking the default setting. I truly truly think you need to go back and look at both chapter 3, and chapter 5 cover to cover. Then, ask questions... specific, key word, questions, if you still are stuck. This is a routing issue, I almost can guarantee it, not a PT issue. I'm willing though to stand corrected.
