Hardware/Equipment Needed Boss Katana MK I or MKII . XSonic AirStep Katana. The AirStep Kat is available through Amazon for $114. You can purchase it directly from the company here who currently has a holiday sale running and has other coupons and offers throughout the year so price compare with amazon. https://xsonicaudio.com/pages/airstepkatedition Software Needed The Katana Librarian iOS app which is $12.95 to unlock all of it’s features. The Katana Librarian App is not by SSonic (the manufacturer of the AirStep Kat),, but a 3RD-party developer. It appears that XSonic decided to support both the Boss Tone Studio for Katana & this 3RD-party app. They actually state in the documentation that the Katana Librarian app is much more robust than the boss offering. It, totally, unlocks all the features in the amp, including hidden amps & effects. Haven’t ran in to any parts of the app that aren’t accessible. In case anyone is interested some more info on XSonic: XSonic makes a series of full featured MIDI foot switches that are very flexible in their programing and the XSonic iOS app to program them looks quite accessible. The XSonic AirStep Kat is made to work specifically with the Boss Katana amps and thus should save you some programing time and just work out of the box So with an AirStep Kat, the Katana Librarian app and a Boss Katana amp of your choosing you should have a pretty accessible rig!. > On Mar 19, 2023, at 4:50 PM, Ricky Prevatte <[email protected]> wrote: > > Ronald, this is a bit off-topic but have you used the app to edit this > amplifier? > I’m thinking of buying the boss and I just wondered how accessible it was > from the computer.
