you might want to try py-jack
http://sourceforge.net/projects/py-jack/
and then write a small script in python wich:
- parses all jack ports
- find sc ones
- launch ecasound with the appropriate port
i'am currently writing something like this for xmms which is not
completely ready yet but if you are interested just tell.

buuut, that said, you can do that with sc itself too. if
you use emacs just
type C-c C-p p to get to the server panels. there is a
record button... I
guess its not the same though :)

first of all, thanks for testing things out!
Supercollider should actually
be installed, you can verify this by opening a
terminal
and typing :
aptitude show supercollider-sclang
you can activate sclang-mode in emacs by adding
(require 'sclang)
to your ~/.emacs configuration file and running emacs
again (or evaluating
the line from inside emacs). I shall swiftly correct
this
though... making a
ticket for this. If you run into more problems let us
know!
Furthermore, its right now not possible to 'dock' the
install the way the
old p:d used to be installed. This is definitely
something that we'll be
looking into though, so stay tuned ;-)
