I have found the solution, in other post that I opened:
"Yes there is, it's an attribute of the mentalrayGlobals node
import maya.cmds as mc
method = 4
mc.setAttr('mentalrayGlobals.accelerationMethod', method)
where method are: 0: BSP, 3: largeBSP, 4: BSP2"
