Hi Geoff, this sounds very good. I like the focus on the QL and the forward oriented approach. I would at least stay two nights, one before the event on Saturday and one night after the event, so the full Saturday is available without time pressures for travelling.
Some activity like dinner on Friday sounds great. In addition to renewing the personal contacts, this will have a warm-up effect and lead to more productivity on Saturday. Personally, I prefer a date not too late in Autumn, so there still is a chance of good weather. But that's a minor point. Many thanks for working on this event.
