Hi Michael,

I do not really see why you need it. Usually the selected area is determined 
by the required area, e.g. the dimensions of your track, less by the paper 
format. 

If the selected area is less than a page, the whitespace is filled with the 
map.

If the selected area is more than a page you either reduce the zoom level. Or 
you print it to several pages. Either way,  your goal is to print the 
information you selected. I doubt anyone drops information, just for the sake 
to have a single page. 

Btw. if you have a large area and many pages simply show the map without a 
track or a route and you want to get rid of them, print into a PDF file. Now 
you can select what page to print.
