Hi,

this is a feature request. I'm sorry that I can't implement it myself
due to lag of knowledge of the programming languages used.

I recently discovered the Ctrl-p dialog to select map areas for printing
or saving. This is very nice!

I often print out these saved "screenshots" to A4 for biking. Now, it
would be nice if there was a mean to select an area that automatically
has the correct paper format.

We could let the user select a paper format or just a height:width
ratio, and when selecting/resizing, the selection rectangle is
automatically restricted to the according ratio. I guess this is a bit
of work. However, there would also be a much simpler way: just compute
the height:width ratio on the fly when selecting/resizing the rectangle,
and print the value in a corner. Then I would just look that it's near
to sqrt(2) for A4, and that's it.

WDYT?

With best regards,

Michael.
