Or drop a special bulletin in his inbox saying he's checkibng mail too often. Given the flagrant behaviour of some packages regarding failure to report actual error messages(*), this may be the only way out. I have tried to contact a user popping excessively on several occasions. The usual response is "yeah yeah" and then no change in behaviour. (*) Eudora for Macintosh's "That Pesky TCP is acting up again" is less than helpful, as a for-instance. AB
