Hey Quadius,

I'm in the same situation. I just got my new Invacare storm from the VAMC
in Long Beach, Ca. I've been back and forth with them explaining its not
going to work for me. The rep told me I'd sit lower and the chair wouldn't be
as
long as my old chair. This turned out to be a lie. Another problem I have
is the electronics are different than my older arrow storm. The mk4
electronics was easy to switch back and forth from recline to drive. The new
mk6
electronics takes a lot more time. You have to shuffle through all the drive
modes. I try to show and explain the difference between the older mk4 to the
mk6 but the therapist and the invacare rep were clueless. They just want to
be through with me. I just left the chair at the VAMC. It's been a week
and now I'm just getting the run around.

What didn't work for you on the Invacare chair? How did you petition for
another chair? Did your therapist assist you with that? What new chair works
for you?

I'm currently still using my 13 yr old Invacare arrow storm with the labac
recliner. It's been a good chair but its just worn out.

I ordered an Invacare through the VA and once it arrived they spent about 2
1/2 hours setting it up and even though I complained it was not even close to
being correct, they were through. I took the chair home just to try it out
and returned a little later telling my therapist or was no way I could use it
unless it was modified. After sitting at my VA for six months I finally
petitioned them to purchase a new chair. Needless to say it's not an
Invacare.
Right now I'm waiting on Majitek to send my drive system for my new chair so
I can start trying it out.
