I can run NetBSD in 200MB with a bit to spare.

If you have a IIci for NetBSD your "In Like Flinn".  LOL  I have my 
firewall/router/DNS Server on a IIci using NetBSD and while setting 
it up isn't very Mac-like, it's not that difficult once you learn a 
bit about vi and can comprehend it's way of doing things.  Once you 
have that, you're a go since there are plenty of us Vintage Maccers 
using NetBSD on 68k Macs with still active development.  (There just 
may be SCSI DMA on 840AVs shortly.)
