All the mods required have been covered in this group in the past, they may
also be in the FAQ on the club web site.
I presume you've seen my web site www.quantums.info, some pictures on there
of a Zetec in a 2+2 plus another page on fitting a Zetec in a Mk2 Fiesta.
Main things are:
Spaceframe mods to clear crank pulley, top of cylinder head and possibly
exhaust downpipe.
Modification of the CVH top engine mounting bracket to fit the Zetec.
Change to injection fuel tank or external swirl pot with high pressure fuel
pump.
Additions to the wiring.
Depending on the engine donor don't forget about the PATS anti theft system.
What car is the engine coming from ?
I've got standard XR2 drums on the rear of my 260bhp ZVH turbo 2+2 but i've
Willwood 4 pot calipers on the front.
There is no weight on the rear of a 2+2 so i don't think upgrading the rear
brakes will help.

Subject: [Quantum Owners] 2+2 Zetec conversion
Today starts the conversion from 1.4cvh to 1.8i Zetec. The engine swap
itself looks quite straightforward though if anyone has any info on
stuff that could jump up and bite me, please let me know. The other
thing that concerns me slightly is the anchors. My brakes are poor at
best and with a little more grunt I am concerned that they are going
to let me down at a crucial moment. What disks will I be able to fit,
Sierra parts have been suggested. Will I need to do anything with the
drums on the rear or are they likely to be ok?
Thank you in advance for your help/suggestions/advice.
Mark
