I just received a receipt for the engine from Joe; I'm about to send
it off to the DVLA. We can show the engine *type* and therefore
capacity, but not the original vehicle - he breaks so many - and the
number is completely illegible.

Mark, it's a heavy engine - about 400kg from memory with all the
ancillaries - but Andy H reckoned his diesel engine was even more. I
haven't fully explored the handling yet but I haven't observed any
great desire to go straight on in the corners. As an aside, I did
consider a number of other Fiat engines, and to be honest, this one
was the answer to the question 'what's the silliest engine possible?'
- but I reckon a 1200 punto 85bhp would be a cracking little engine
for the car and at least 150kg lighter. I had an Onyx years ago, based
on a panda, and that went quite well with the 1000cc FIRE engine...
and even better with the 1300 'Brazil' engine, though that did require
cutting a big hole in the bonnet!
