My everyday drive is a Mondeo zetec engined SI with traction control on just
the front wheel drive of course and in snow and mud it is amazing for grip, I
wonder if it could be adapted to fit in a FWD Quantum. I will not because I
have too many projects already.

Thats what i'm doing with my H4, a H4x4
Mondeo 4x4 system mated to a Focus ST170 engine, that bit is done.
The rest has been somewhat delayed due to a house purchase but should be on
it soon.
Have you got the injectors from the plastic manifold ?, those are the ones
for the 115ps engine.
The mondeo 115ps ecu will work with those.

All joking aside I was seriously considering getting hold of a four wheel
drive motor and drivetrain. I thought it would be fun but funds won't stretch
to all the extra bodywork and engineering that would be involved. (at the
moment!). I could see flared arches just to fit the wider track for the
drivetrain. Watching a couple of cars on ebay this morning I noticed that the
ST24 Mondeos are going for peanuts...V6 Q anyone? I am just waiting on the
information that Jim asked me for and some photos. The engine is definitely a
1.8 phase 2 from an Escort, Peter thinks this is the 115ps lump. I just need to
check that the manifolds, injectors, maf et al are suitable. That being the
case all I need is exhaust and ECU and I am going to be running again. The
engine and running gear is all installed, The upgraded brakes are going on
tonight/tomorrow. It is now just a case of getting the engine to make vroom
vroom noises and I will be back on the road. Can anyone recommend a cheap (<==
Really important) downpipe or system, preferably non cat.

How about a rear wheel drive or 4WD Saloon?
