That all depends on how the MOT computer decides the emissions should be tested 
on your car and what reg the car is.
Was it SVA'd and is it a Q plate ?

My B reg 2+2 has had all the variations over the years from no visible smoke to 
some figure of CO
Last year the CO was measured, this year it wasn't !
As it's all hooked into the MOT computer the garage can't override it.

It's a while since i looked at it but from memory if it's pre SVA then it's the 
age of the engine or the age of the car (number plate age) whichever is older.
If it was SVA'd then it's done on the engine which strictly speaking means it 
will need the CAT to pass.

  Pictures received, i'll have a look at the ECU wires tonight and make sure 
the loom is what we think it is.

  The standard Zetec downpipe is close to fitting on the Mk2 Fiesta system, it 
just needs extending and one half of the clamp changing.

    Have sent the images directly. I am still trying to find an exhaust... 
ringing round breakers at the moment. The joy!


    I am hoping that, if I can get the downpipe, Peter will be able to attach 
this to the existing pipe on the car. This won't be ideal but is going to have 
to do for a few weeks. Then we will look for a pipe that gives a bit more grunt 
and sounds a bit better.

    That MAF is from a 1.6 and it's the early one, it probably came with the 
alloy manifold and injectors.
    The engine will run without a MAF though so it's not a major problem.

      Got the following from Peter. 




       'have sent images of both intake manifolds, both sets of injectors, the 
ECU data and cable harness, exhaust manifold and the air flow meter. In all of 
the ECU connector images Pin 1 (red wire) is the bottom left corner and pin 60 
(brown wire) is the top right hand corner.



      The engine code is RKC UW594883 making it a Phase 2 1.8 16V ZETEC from an 
Escort, the coding from the air flow meter is 92FB-12B579BA      AFH38-07A4F18



      The engine currently has the 1.6 injectors fitted.'

      It is part of the ABS system, it uses the ABS sensors to look at the 
speed of the 4 wheels and brake any that are going too much faster (i.e 
slipping).
      It may also have a actuator on the throttle cable to pull the throttle 
back but i think thats only models that have cruise control.

      There is a similar system on some of the Mk4/5 Fiestas and Puma's but you 
would have to fit the complete ABS system with sensors on all 4 wheels to make 
it work.
      Not all models with ABS have the traction control.

        My everyday drive is a Mondeo zetec engined SI with traction control on 
just the front wheel drive of course and in snow and mud it is amazing for 
grip, I wonder if it could be adapted to fit in a FWD Quantum. I will not 
because I have too many projects already.

          Thats what i'm doing with my H4, a H4x4
          Mondeo 4x4 system mated to a Focus ST170 engine, that bit is done.

          The rest has been somewhat delayed due to a house purchase but should 
be on it soon.

          Have you got the injectors from the plastic manifold ?, those are the 
ones for the 115ps engine.
          The mondeo 115ps ecu will work with those.
