Tony Yes I replaced the nylon bushes in the linkage at the gear box end as described in Zetecinside. It works a treat. I decided to use Stainless Bolts with the unthreaded shoulder the right length to fit between the bearings.
I left the Gearstick end unmodified and didn't need the rubber cotton reels.
