Is the trade insurance (on non insured vehicles only, not customers etc) only for driving between private establishments? eg site's / to a garage etc like trade plates?? My understanding is with Luke too regarding driving other vehicles on your insurance.

I'm not sure that's true. If you leave the vehicle it would become uninsured
and if that was a public road it could be illegal.

Also you can drive a normally uninsured vehicle with trade insurance that
covers any vehicle.

Michael, thanks for you comments, but for someone to be able to drive
another vehicle on their insurance, the vehicle in question must be
insured in its own right - otherwise its illegal.

I have had confirmation from VOSA that you can drive your car to the
test station with no registration, but you must have insurance to do
this. Likewise, to attend local garages for remedial works you must
have insurance in place.
