ALL - Appologies for the duplicate information in my previous
responses.

Mark - I saw the discussion below with Jim on your earlier thread
about the 2+2 Zetec conversion.

I did wonder if I have a similar problem with the Coupe -
unfortunately I have no history to the car.
There is a Build manual but there is no instructions regarding the
need to pack any engine mount.

Perhaps someone with a Coupe could comment or possibly provide come
measurements for comparison.....

Extract from 2+2 Zetec conversion++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The quantity of washers that were in there were applying significant
force to
the engine assembly. This provides a logical explanation for breaking
3 inboard
cv joints in 8000 miles. I may be wrong but to me that makes sense. I
have to
admit I hadn't looked at that part of the build manual but Peter is
going to use
the other two engine mounts to locate the engine and then pack out
just enough
to take the tension out of the system.

The lower fixing on the upper engine mount is supposed to have a
stack
of spacing washers behind it to line it up with the hole for the top
stud and
keep it parallel to the frame.
But not quite as much as 1/2", mine was about 10mm from memory, i
turned up a
stainless steel spacer rather than use the stack of washers the build
manual
suggests.
